I know several have mentioned interest in making this trip, so I thought I would post up before it starts getting too warm.

Who all is interested in taking their car down to the Gap for a day or even 1-night trip? I would like to take the M3 down there pretty soon.

Post up! 8)

You're allowed to take a car to the dragon?

If you come up with a general date I'd be interested. I know I can make it in something like 3.5-4 hours fairly easy so wouldn't be against leaving like Fri night and coming back Sun night.

Personally I am not too interested in paying for 2 nights for almost no benefit, so I would leave Saturday morning, but that is just me.

Can't go this or next weekend, so Feb 20 and 21 is first available for me.

I know jwlex talked about this too. And MoHarm said he may tag along.

I'm interested. Im not sure how well my car would handle it but I think it would be fun to drive. I'm just wondering what the traffic is like on the dragon this time of year. Anyone know?

I think I have the record in a minivan. The wife wasn't too impressed but my daughter was all smiles. :D

we are in pigeon forge every x-mas time, and I have been to the gap in our minivan also(it is alot of fun), but no traffic at all. You can go from 30-50 mph thru all the turns, its a blast but I did make the brakes smell like crap.

Now Brad, you know damn good and well that it doesn't belong to the bikers. It belongs to that North Carolina hag that drug her ass thru in front of you, Jason and me when we went back in June. You remember her don't you? The one we honked and flashed our lights at, who just wouldn't budge... It's her road. You just remember that.

Be warry passing someone going really really slow down a straight. They were running slow vans to try and bait people into passing the cops in the bushes with radar guns when my dad was last down there. Once he shook his head to the lady telling her he wasn't about to pass she moved on and went at a reasonable pace. But, they are starting to try and trap people.

I wouldn't care to leave on sat and come back sun. But, I'd probably want to leave fairly early sat.

Sounds good to me. But what is "fairly early"?

I might be interested in going depending on the date. Let me know if you all decide to go.

As much as I hate to get up early I'd want to try and leave by 8 or sooner if we're planning on trying to go as a group. That way we have enough time to run the dragon a few times, hit something else around there and then either head back or go somewhere to stay till the next day.
